Event Submissions

We would like to help you promote TTC events. If you have an event you would like to announce in the Trident Times, we can either list it in the right sidebar or publish a post about it - or both. If you want it in the sidebar, please send us the title, date, time, location, and contact person for the event. If you would like a more extensive post about your event, please send us a press release with a photo. You can send press releases to Amber Yedinak (melissa.yedinak@tridenttech.edu). 
Following is a template that may help you in writing your press release:

First paragraph:  Begin your press release with a two sentence paragraph that provides a quick overview of the event and why it is important.  Answer the “who, what, why, and where” questions of journalism. Give the location and time of event. It should read easily and make your news sound exciting to a general audience.

Second paragraph:  Next, provide some background information on the event. Provide key biographical information of any speakers. Your text should explain the purpose, potential audience, and benefits of your event, and intrigue the reader to find out more. Provide a quote from the speakers or organizers that will help entice people to attend. Let people know if the event is free or if there is a cost.

Final paragraph: Offer a brief description of your department or organization and the services it provides.  Add “For more information, contact <contact person and contact information>
