STAFFING NEEDS

Do you like to write?  Do you want to help others write? Are you taking or have you taken Journalism 101, English 101, English 102, Technical Writing (English 260), Creative Writing (English 238), or Writing for Electronic Media (RTV 109)? If this is you, then we need to talk. We hire contributing student editors for the Trident Times student newspaper. We offer free tuition for each semester commitment. We also offer volunteer contributing editor positions that can lead to the paid editor positions. Please see Ann Welty in Bldg 410/130 or contact her at ann.welty@tridenttech.edu for an application.

      A contributing editor does the following:

• Writes weekly articles for the online and print versions of the newspaper
• Develops relationships with writers and coaches them in writing for the newspaper
• Edits and fact checks submissions
• Solicits submissions
• Works with faculty mentors to develop writing and editing skills
•  Meets deadlines and attends staff meetings
