What is the "For What It's Worth" Column?

“For What It’s Worth” is an opinion column that appears regularly in the Trident Times. It typically focuses on issues related to the college, but it may venture into other areas when the mood hits. The opinions stated in the column are those of the writer, so any response to those views can and should be directed to the author through the Trident Times blog’s “comment” section. While the writers are members of the newspaper’s staff, readers are invited to submit guest columns. If you have something you want to say, just send a column to Roger West at roger.west@tridenttech.edu.

Roger West is a faculty member of the Department of English and Journalism and the Coordinator of the First-Year Writing Program. He has served the college for over 15 years, and most recently, has been helping out the Trident Times as a faculty mentor/editor. He is the father of three, the husband of one, and the proud owner of a new dog named Dundee.
